Eiffel Excellence Scholarship
The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program is funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and administered by Campus France. It supports international students pursuing Master’s and PhD programs at French universities. The award covers living allowances, travel, health insurance, and housing assistance.
How the Application Works
Students cannot apply directly to Campus France. Instead, French universities review applications internally and nominate selected candidates to the national committee. Independent submissions are automatically rejected.
Scholarship Coverage
Master’s Level
- Monthly allowance: €1,200
- Duration: 12–36 months
- One round‑trip economy flight
- Domestic train travel to study location
- Health insurance covered
- Priority access to public housing
- Tuition fees waived at public universities
Doctoral Level
- Monthly allowance: €2,100
- Duration: 6–36 months
- One round‑trip economy flight
- Domestic train travel to study location
- Health insurance covered
- Priority access to public housing
- Tuition fees waived at public universities
Note: Private institutions may require students to pay remaining tuition balances.
Eligibility Rules
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of a country other than France. Dual nationals with French citizenship are ineligible.
- Age Limits:
- Master’s applicants: 29 years or younger at the time of evaluation.
- Doctoral applicants: 35 years or younger at the time of evaluation.
- Location: Master’s applicants already studying in France are not eligible. Priority is given to those applying from abroad.
- Language: Must meet the language requirements of the chosen program (French or English).
- Restrictions:
- Cannot be nominated by more than one institution in the same cycle.
- Applicants rejected at the Master’s level cannot reapply for Master’s funding.

Applications outside these tracks are not accepted.
Required Documents
- Curriculum Vitae (academic history, professional experience, research outputs).
- Academic transcripts for all higher education years.
- Diploma certificates or proof of enrollment.
- Professional statement (career goals, reason for studying in France, choice of university).
- Language proficiency certificates (DELF/DALF, IELTS, TOEFL, etc.).
- Research proposal (PhD applicants only).
- Letters of recommendation from academic supervisors.
Selection Timeline – 2027 Intake
- October 2026: Campus France opens the application campaign.
- Nov–Dec 2026: Internal university deadlines close.
- Early January 2027: Universities submit nominated files to Campus France.
- April 2027: Official list of scholarship laureates published.
