Harvard Medical School financial aid and MD scholarships

Harvard Medical School (HMS)

Harvard Medical School (HMS) admits MD students on a need-blind basis. This means your financial background does not affect admission decisions. Once admitted, all institutional scholarships are awarded strictly on demonstrated financial need, not academic merit alone.

HMS Financial Aid Structure

HMS uses a standard need-analysis formula to calculate awards. The Office of Financial Aid subtracts your Institutional Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from tuition and mandatory fees.

  • If your family contribution is calculated as zero, HMS grants cover 100% of tuition and required fees.
  • Scholarships remain valid for up to eight semesters, provided you maintain satisfactory academic progress.

See the University of Melbourne Summer research Internship detailed guides to explore other fully funded opportunities.
